Postcards for Cicada, a New York Times-acclaimed, James Beard chef finalist–run coffee shop and restaurant in Cambrdige, Massachusetts.

Inspired by the shop’s eclectic handmade furniture and motto “live slowly to understand deeply,” this risograph printed postcard abstracts the Vietnamese flag while referencing specific pieces of furniture and decor handmade by the owner. Postcards were a commissioned project for the holiday season, after which I drafted this speculative identity system featuring illustrations inspired by the restaurant’s distinctive, eclectic, home-like atmosphere.
